Salvatore has been passionate about natural therapies for most of his life. He holds qualifications in natural therapies, herbal medicine, acupuncture and aromatherapy. Salvatore’s dedication to aromatherapy has seen him hold positions in professional associations and government committees to ensure that the educational standards of professional aromatherapy are maintained and improved. He has been teaching aromatherapy since 1987. He regularly runs innovative online masterclasses and webinars.
He is the author of The Complete Guide to Aromatherapy, Volume I – Foundations and Materia Medica, third edition, published in 2018, The Complete Guide to Aromatherapy, Volume III – Psyche & Subtle, third edition, published in 2021, Aromatree – a holistic guide to understanding and using aromatherapy, published in 2019, and Aromatherapy and Chakras – balancing your body’s energy centres for optimal health and wellbeing, published in 2020. The Complete Guide to Aromatherapy was first written and published in 1995. It is an internationally acclaimed book that is used as a textbook for aromatherapy education around the world. The book is now in its third edition and is also available in Korean and Japanese. To date over 130,000 copies have been sold.
In 1991, together with Carolyn, his wife, they established Perfect Potion whose purpose it is to support the individual, community, and environment to flourish while listening, guiding, and reconnecting mind, body and spirit. Perfect Potion is a pioneer in developing a range of organic aromatherapy and certified organic and natural skincare in Australia. Together with over 100 amazing team they operate 10 retail shops throughout Australia and 10 retail concept stores in Japan.
In 1995 he created Aromatherapy Today, which is still being published today under watchful eyes of Deby Atterby. In 1996 he established the International Centre of Aromatherapy, which offered the most comprehensive range of aromatherapy training in Australia. While the school is no longer operating, Salvatore continues to pursue his passion for teaching by offering such a comprehensive range of innovative masterclasses which examine the role of aromatherapy in supporting our mental health and wellbeing.
In 2023, in Korea, he launched The International Natural Perfumery Master Course which involves using only essential oils and absolutes to create natural aromatherapy-based perfumes. This course will be available in 2024 to the rest of the world.
He shares his passion and love of the world, natural therapies and aromatherapy with his wife, Carolyn Stubbin, his beagle Lucy, and cat, Abbey.
