Emilee has been actively involved with aromatherapy for over forty years. She brings a plethora of education and diverse experience to the creation of The Private Universe. Her experience in the healing arts has been sought after and featured on numerous television and radio programs, as well as magazines and newspaper articles.
Her journey into the art of aromatherapy was inspired in the late 1960’s by Madam Arcier a pioneer in Aromatherapy and the mind, body holistic approach to health and beauty at her salon located in Knightsbridge, London.
During that time she was a consultant for Estée Lauder at the famous department store, Selfridges, in London, England. While in London she enrolled at the Dubarry International Society of Health and Beauty Therapy and graduated as a fellow of the society with an international diploma.
Emilee moved to Raleigh, N.C. in 1975 and opened the first Aromatherapy Center in the United States.
In 1985 she was invited to operate a new health spa at the famous Langford Resort Hotel located in Winter Park, Florida. During her time at the Langford Spa she continued to be actively involved in the healing arts. As well as attending seminars, studying with international leaders in aromatherapy, teaching aromatherapy to students who eventually opened their own successful aromatherapy spas.
In 1990 she was invited by the International Federation of Essential Oils and Aromas to attend a conference in Antalya, Turkey, sponsored by Turkey’s National Association of Rose Oil where many of the world producers and suppliers of essential oil were in attendance. She visited beautiful rose plantations and small distilleries with their different processing facilities.
After the conference she became more committed to raising the consciousness of aromatherapy on our planet and was when she first conceived the idea for her Private Universe, dedicated to the transformation of body, mind and spirit through the ancient principles of alchemy and aromatherapy.
Emilee will forever be grateful for her many mentors, teachers and friends that inspired her on her journey.
Through aromatherapy she found purpose and meaning in her life. Emilee retired in 2017 and enjoys the beautiful sunrises and sunsets in Florida overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in her own Private Universe.
